Retirements (January 2026)
Pedro Acevedo-Rodríguez retired in July 2025 after 36 years of service at the Smithsonian Institution. He joined the Department of Botany at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) in March 1989, first as an Assistant Curator and then promoted to Associate and full Curator.
