Historical Samuel de Champlain portrait finds new home at local museum
While July 4 marks America’s 250th birthday, it’s also the 417th anniversary of a French explorer’s trip to New York that led to the naming of Lake Champlain. And now, a historic portrait of the French explorer has found a new home at the Samuel de Champlain History Center in Champlain, New York.
